Field Report: Kara Ross Spring 2012 Presentation

Kara Ross’s handbag and jewelry line for Spring/Summer 2012 was breathtaking. It was impossible to focus on one thing, as my eyes darted from the turquoise earrings and bracelets, to thick bangles with geometric stone patterns, to diamond and gold chandelier earrings, and back to rich colored envelope clutches.

As a designer, Ross excels at walking that fine line of making pieces elegant and timeless while also pushing the style envelope. Because of this, the pieces at her presentation in the CIRCA Lounge at NYFW can and will be seen on discerning women of any age. I found myself building outfits in my head off of the foundations of my favorite pieces, including the chunky white cuff with rock crystal in the center, the stacked rings with bright colorful stones, and her snakeskin bags. Oh my word, the snakeskin bags…were…FABULOUS!

Kara herself was just as charming and elegant as the fine jewelry she designs. She personally showed off her line to everyone who approached, and even brought out some belts that weren’t on display. How great is that?!
