As some of you may know, I (Bill, Vera’s husband), was graciously invited to Detroit to check them and the other auto makers out at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). It was pretty great. So many cars, so little time. Everything was about the newest technology inside and out. It was about sustainability and going green. It was about comfort and style. There was flash and substance. There were rock concert-like press conferences and world debuts of brand new cars. It’s quite an experience to be honest with you. Something I’m very glad I had the opportunity to experience.

Here are some images from the early morning press conference featuring Exec. Chairman William Clay Ford and Jr., President and CEO Alan Mulally among other top executives at Ford.  They spoke about Ford’s history and community outreach, it’s growth in America (12,000 planned new jobs), it’s new design and tech office opening in Silicon Valley, it’s growth in Asia, as well as it’s innovations in technology and sustainability.  They also spoke about Ford Fusion’s growing market share in the competitive mid-size sedan market (gaining on Camry and Accord).

I’m off to dinner at Ford HQ.  More images from Ford and the auto show to come!
