Daily Diary: Letting Go Of Control (Or Having The Kids Eat In Bed With Me)

Thank goodness we had these LapFit trays because the kids have been using them every single day!! I mean – talk about a product coming into your life at the right time. 🙂

I love that Bill brings the kids into the bedroom with me to have meals… but if I’m being honest it totally grosses me out. They wipe their hands on the sheets. They don’t eat over the trays, so crumbs go everywhere. I’m in a constant state of shock. It would almost be better if they stayed in the kitchen. My breathing elevates until they finish their drinks – then I ease up a bit. LOL!

It’s really about letting it all go. So what the sheets get messy and we sleep on cream cheese stains? Right? LOL – I can’t even write that without gagging – forget about believe it!!

One day at a time. 🙂

Get a big vinyl tablecloth and spread it out on the bed. Picnic!!! Or bring small table and chairs in for them if you have room. This too shall pass.

I'm not sure how big your bedroom is, but maybe you could bring in a small kids table or card table and let the kids eat there. You will all be in the same room, but your bed won't be full of crumbs. Or lay a big blanket out and let the crumbs fall there. Glad you had a good Dr. Visit today. Hang in there... :)

I'm right there with you on NOT eating in bed. It seems to be a norm for a whole lot of people I've gotten to know over the years. Of course, there are extenuating circumstances. When I was hopsitalized, I needed to get out of the bed in order to eat. LoL
