Daily Diary: Spending Time In LA With My Best Friend — Or When Work Meets Play

Screen Shot 2014-08-25 at 6.50.54 AM

Today is the day folks! Audrey and I are heading to the Emmy’s red carpet with Keurig!! So excited! I’m about to head upstairs to meet the group and have breakfast. It’s just before 7AM on the West Coast. I’m still a bit jolted by the Earthquake that happened in Napa. The natives that are part of the group are pretty calm about the whole thing but I am quietly having an anxiety attack behind my over-sized sunglasses.

I woke up around 3AM last night in a panic because my bed was vibrating. I know that it was because a truck passed by or something along those lines, but my MIND couldn’t stop racing. Needless to say, I did not get back to sleep. I kept checking Twitter and waiting for an alarm to start blasting from the hotel. Obviously NOTHING HAPPENED because NOTHING actually HAPPENED. I’m a ball of nerves!!

Listen, I can take any hurricane or massive snow storm Mother Nature wants to throw at me. I might even be able to handle a low grade tornado. But earthquakes? Not in my frame of reference. Not possible. This East Coaster is having a hard time handling any shake or rumble that she’s hearing. Did I just talk about myself in third person? Ugh. I hate people who do that.

Anyway – yesterday, we had a few hours of free time to explore the city and we took full advantage. It was fun jumping around and going from spot to spot with Audrey and Natalie (not pictured). I am going to do a full write up of the trip when I have more time. I just wanted to say hello before I headed out for the big day and promise to take LOTS AND LOTS of pictures.

I am going to be doing MOST of my updates on TWITTER — so be sure to check out my stream for red carpet update. @VeraSweeney

But occasionally I will also post those very special shots on Instagram — so click here too. 🙂

Speak soon! Wish me luck!! I’m hoping to run into anyone from:

  • True Blood
  • The Walking Dead
  • American Horror Story

Goodness I need to lighten up…
