I love tea.
Actually I feel like I should say it like this…
My name is Vera and I have a tea addiction.
Everyone in my life knows it. If you follow me on any social media platform, I’m talking about “loose leaf this” and “Starbucks black tea that” and I DON’T WORK WITH THEM. It is a straight up addiction. I wake up in the morning and I make my first cup and then I have a decaf version before I go to bed.
Ok, my kids are my everything but you catch my drift.
Well, my friend picked me up to run some errands earlier this week and she surprised me with a little gift. A small trinket if you will. 🙂 She said that she saw it in the store and thought of me immediately. It’s not my birthday. There’s no reason to buy me ANYTHING – but she did. And at around 40, I found that to be such a special treat. We don’t do that for one another anymore at this age, right? Maybe when I was in high school I would pick up something that “reminded me” of a friend – but not now when my brain is fried and stretched too thin thanks to the kids and work and the house and my husband and….
So, when she handed me this tea mug with a big ol’ lipstick kiss on it, I smiled a HUGE smile. That meant that I was on her mind and she took the time to show it.
We should all do this more often.
And it doesn’t have to be with gifts that are out of budget. It could be with a simple cup of coffee. The point is to let your friends know that you are thinking of them when they aren’t with you.
I keep thinking of this mug. And I can’t wait to use it when I get home!!
