We just saw Ant-Man!! It was SO GOOD! The kids loved it and so did I. Well, you KNOW I loved it – I am a Marvel girl through and through.  Before I get into the movie review, I wanted to tell you about a few free activity sheets I have to share with you. Check them out below — simply right click on each image and save them to your computer. Then print as many copies as you’d like for your kids. Super fun!

Ok! Onto the review.

Paul Rudd. Marvel. WHAT? I didn’t get it. I really didn’t. I mean – Paul is a lanky comedian. I couldn’t see him beyond a role that didn’t involve smoking illegal substances or poopy diapers. My brain could not process this casting. But Stan Lee knows what’s up – so I wasn’t going to let that deter me in any way. My mother took the kids to the movies and I tagged along. Usually she takes them on her own – but she was going to see Ant-Man and I wasn’t going to miss out on that opp.

Immediately, you fall in love with everyone who is cast. Michael Douglas (KING of the big screen)  and Evangeline Lilly (FINALLY SHE GETS HER TIME!!) are both perfection. But you know who does it for me? Who takes the cake? Who cracked me UP!?  Michael Peña — omg. I can’t. He was spot on with his character. Flipping hilarious.

Scott Lang – average Joe turned superhero: that’s the ticket, right? That’s what every young boy / teenager / 20 something year old man wants to see.

If it happened to Scott then maybe it can happen to me?!

You could just FEEL the wishing happening in the theatre. Everyone wanted to be Ant-Man by the end of the movie. Oh man – SO GOOD!

I read a million reviews online and most are saying that the comedy in Ant-Man is BETTER than ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. I wouldn’t go THAT FAR. I’d say that it was a GREAT movie – but GOTG was still my favorite new release Marvel movie to date.

There’s action, a great plot, a realistic villain and a storyline that breaks off in two different pieces at the end.

TAKE MY ADVICE — stay until the ABSOLUTE END OF THIS MOVIE! THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT SCENES THAT ROLL DURING THE CREDITS!

Ant-Man was a great movie! I love how Marvel is bringing a ton of comedy to their movies while still bringing in the punch and the boom and the fire.

If you head to the theatre to see Ant-Man, bring the kids and your friends and your cousins because it is a GREAT night out. Everyone will love it. My 8 and 10 year old both thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my mother. BRAVO!!
