You know I loved the D23 Expo. It was really an amazing experience and great time. I have to say, a MAJOR highlight for me was when we were lucky enough to attend the Silly Symphony Concert hosted by Leonard Maltin. We were treated to a live concert featuring a 32-piece orchestra that played live while we watched shorts from the Disney archives. The shorts have been been restored and looked amazing.
It really was amazing to see a live orchestra playing all of the great music you know and love while watching those old, classic cartoons that just go oh so well with that great music. I was a sensory experience like none other. It’s almost hard to put into words how interesting and entertaining it really was. I didn’t know where to look…those great shorts or the amazing orchestra! Couple that with all of the background given by Mr. Maltin and it was just a magical Disney experience.
Thank goodness this was on the trip’s agenda. It’s something that will stick with me for a while!!
