Hurricane Preparedness Checklist: Must-Have Items To Help Your Family Weather The Storm

With all this recent news about the upcoming hurricane due to arrive in Texas, I thought it was time to do a post revolving around a Hurricane Preparedness Checklist. As a New Yorker, I can tell you that I’ve been through my fair share of bad storms. In fact, my next door neighbor had a 100-year-old oak crash through their house during our last blow through. They stayed with us until the worst of it passed, but it forever changed their lives. Hurricanes come and go and sometimes without much warning. We all need to be prepared with as much as we can without having to worry about rushing to the store for essentials. That’s why it’s critical you take a look at my Hurricane Preparedness Checklist and see how much you still need to get through. Do it now before any frenzy begins.

I went through and thought about all the things we needed to get through the worst of the days. Obviously, it would be great if you had coloring books for the kids to help pass the time. I could have included those items into the mix, but I really wanted to focus on the essentials. For example, having a crank radio was key for my peace of mind. Even though we were without electricity for several weeks, we were still able to keep up with the rest of the world. I NEEDED that and believe me, you will too!

My Hurricane Preparedness Checklist is free to download. All you have to do is click on the link and save the file to your desktop. Then print as many copies as you’d like. And friends, if you have a pending storm, I wish you a calm mind and a safe home.
